Designer Bandhani Saree |
The most important Manufacturing
centers of Designer bandhani sarees are located mainly in West India, in cities like Jamnagar,
Bhuj and Ahmedabad. These types of sarees are created by combining different
vibrant colors, contrasting two colors with borders, endpieces with elegant designs.
In this technique, Pinch-size
portions of fabrics are tied together using a special thread used only for bandhani
saris. After an entire piece of fabric is tied together in various
pinches, it is dyed colorfully. These pinches are then opened with leaving
white blocks wherever the fabric was pinched and tied together. A thing to keep
in mind while undoing the knots or pinches is that they should be opened in a
criss-cross manner in order to prevent the fabric from tearing. The fabrics are
dyed differently using natural and artificial colors.
